A reduced-mass replacement flywheel (typically aluminum or chromoly) that lets the engine rev faster between gear changes. Weight reduction of 40-60% compared to OEM is common. The trade-off is reduced low-RPM smoothness and harder cold starts. Critical for high-revving NA builds (B16B, F20C, 4A-GE) where rotational inertia matters.
