TPMS Sensor

A battery-powered valve-stem or band-mounted sensor that reports tire pressure to the dash, mandated on US-market cars since 2008. Running a second wheel set for track or winter means either swapping the sensors over or buying a pre-programmed set, or the low-pressure warning stays lit.
