Load Index

The number in a tire's size code (the 91 in 205/55R16 91W) that maps to a maximum load rating per tire. Going below the factory index risks overloading the casing, especially on heavier turbo cars; matching or exceeding OE is the safe rule when spec'ing a fresh set.
