Flow-Formed Wheel

A cast wheel whose barrel is spun and stretched under heat and pressure, aligning the grain like a forging. The result splits the difference between cheap gravity-cast and pricey forged: lighter and stronger than plain cast at a fraction of forged cost. Also called rotary forging.
