Compression Ratio

The ratio of cylinder volume at bottom dead center to top dead center, or how much the charge is squeezed. High ratios make efficient, responsive naturally aspirated power; boosted engines run lower ratios for detonation headroom, which is why many turbo JDM builds drop compression.
